Bike choir recycles music for transport revolution.

A Toronto, Ontario, cyclist choir A group of Toronto, Ontario, cyclists formed Song Cycles: Choir on Bikes in 1993, as a unique and fun way to deliver their pro-bike, pro-environmental message. They have performed at a number of community functions, radio shows and music events. One of their songs is presented.

The Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation's Urban Issues Program The Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation has funded seven Canadian urban development projects through its Urban Issues Program. The projects include transportation planning in Ottawa, street theater in Montreal, and community development certificate programs in Halifax.

Successful green initiatives at risk in Ontario.

Nineteen environmental programs known as 'Green Communities' are threatened by Ontario's budget cuts 'Peterborough Green Up' is an example of a successful environmental program that draws on grassroots involvement. The project provides home energy assessments and environmental education. However, Ontario plans to cut spending for it and the 18 Green Communities effective Mar 1996.
