So too are South Beach in Miami, Key West, Panama City, and Fort Meyers to some extent. Both Cancun and Mazatlan in Mexico, two of our non-stop sun destinations, are quite popular, but not as much as Acapulco. Montego Bay and to some extent Negril in Jamaica attract many, as does Nassau in the Bahamas.
A second strategy relates to your choice of properties. While still not a guaranteed strategy, it's worth remembering that college students try to spend their dollars on the quality of their partying rather than the number of stars on the properties they choose to stay in, for the few hours they may require sleep each night. So look for the higher-rated hotels, as well as the family oriented and adult-only hotels which are either somewhat more expensive, or tend to be more rigidly monitor...

In 1995 and 1996, Nyg *rd divided his time almost equally between Canada, the United States and the Bahamas, where he moved in 1974 and subsequently built a sprawling estate named Nyg *rd Cay, which he rents out for $245,000 weekly when he isn't there.
Nyg *rd's court file points out that he has a Bahamian driver's licence, owns numerous vehicles and boats there and also maintains a home office. He says he does not own or rent a home in Canada, but slept in his Winnipeg factory, Toronto office, or in hotels when he visited during the tax years in dispute.
Despite the appellant's frequent business trips to Canada, the U.S. as well as Asia, his centre of interest remained in the Bahamas," says Nyg *rd's court file.

I'm feeling like a pirate myself, right now. I've hoisted my Jolly Roger at the Sheraton Cable Beach Resort (about 700 guest rooms in a U-shaped design around seven acres of tropical waterscape) on West Bay Street, 15 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from Nassau. I'm seven floors up in a hotel, where just about every room has a sliding door to a good-sized balcony with an expansive view of the ocean and a bunch of pools and waterfalls, and 1,000 feet of white sandy beach. Out at sea, a towering white cruise ship leaves our waters and in the distance, another approaches.
Don't miss the Queen's Staircase that leads from Fort Fincastle to a nearby shoreline. It's a passage carved out of rock, an escape route to an awaiting ship if the fort was overrun. It took thousands of slaves mo...

The 2009 Michelin guidebook for Las Vegas has given its top hotel rating to the Wynn Las Vegas and its top restaurant rating to Joel Robuchon at the MGM Grand hotel.
Joel Robuchon's rating of three stars means Michelin considers the restaurant to have "exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.
Michelin compiles its ratings by sending anonymous inspectors to restaurants and hotels. The inspectors pay their own bills and remain unknown to the establishments in hopes of gauging a normal customer experience, the guide said. Michelin said editors and inspectors pick restaurants and hotels, which do not pay to be included in the guides.

Turks and Caicos is becoming more popular. There's a buzz," [Mike] tells me over the phone in Winnipeg. They feel they've bought in at the right place and at the right time. Their property is in a professionally managed rental pool and rents for $3,500 a night in the high season to $2,200 a night in the low season when they are not using it. If they hadn't bought it when they did, Mike tells me, they certainly wouldn't be able to afford to rent it now.
Wondering if they made the right decision, at Christmas time the couple took a Caribbean cruise to visit as many other island communities as possible in an effort to see if there was anything they were missing out on elsewhere. "The cruise ships have ruined those places," Mike says of many more-heavily visited ports of call. Of T&C h...
