The Preface states two main aims: 1 to "incorporate all the contemporary subdisciplines of behavioral biology, such as animal welfare, conservation biology, evolutionary psychology, animal cognition, and behavioral neuroscience" (p. xvii), and 2 to present perspectives on all four of Niko Tinbergen's classic (1963) whys of animal behaviour, "namely about causation, development, function, and evolution" (p. xvii). "Part III, Animal Behavior and Human Society" comprises three chapters on topics of concern to humans, on animal welfare (D. Fraser & D. M. Weary), conservation (T. Caro & J. Eadie), and evolutionary psychology (M. DaIy & M. Wilson), which is the attempt to provide evolutionary explanations of human behaviour.

The impact of the Internet on how and when individuals decide to adopt new products and services remains a critical yet under examined topic. This research examines the linkage between Internet use and the new product diffusion process through the examination of a very large, detailed, Internet usage dataset. Our 12-month longitudinal analysis of 34,731 customers' Internet related behaviours indicates that the introduction of Internet based services is positively correlated with expedited adoption behaviour. Customers that utilized a company's Internet related service innovations were over twice as likely to adopt the company's new product offering during the first year of introduction. We conclude by discussing the implications and need for additional research.

In the pursuit of understanding pilots and aircraft accidents, the study of human factors in aviation has evolved with many philosophies, theories and causation models dominating our safety culture. Skill-based errors (stick and rudder errors, inadvertent operations, and checklist, procedural and maneuvering errors ... for example) overwhelmingly are the root cause of most mishaps followed by errors in judgment and decision-making (risk assessment, task mis-prioritization, ignored warnings, rushed operations, problem solving, weather avoidance, failure to go-around or abort a takeoff ... to name a few).
