Australia's Powderfinger are one of those bands you kind of love to hate. They tread a fine line between being a crew that has the ability to kick out the jams with a passion that is generally lacking these days and trying really hard to sound impeccably intense. The missing ingredient of course is the danger factor. They appropriated a Neil Young song title for their name but only touch on his rough savoir-faire on a few cuts. NICKELBACK lead singer Chad Kroeger didn't make a star turn as his impaired-driving charges came to provincial court in Surrey, B.C., Wednesday morning.
