The Winnipeg lottery ticket printer has just signed the industry's first deal with a record company -- EMI Music -- to launch music-themed lottery ticket programs.
That demographic is hard for the lottery companies to reach," said Doug Pollard, the company's vice-president of lottery management services. "They are not as motivated by traditional lottery games and less apt to pick up on traditional lottery advertising.
"It's one more unique, experiential prize that a lot of people are excited by," he said. "Players see value in it and it's easy to promote."
