Once the dust and metal filings have all cleared from a build, there's a genuine sense of pride amongst the SanDale team. "It's great to see a customer getting what they've always wanted, and getting it done right," said Kevin Jacobson, SanDale's wrench with mystical wiring harness fault-chasing powers. The crew sees the importance of continued technological improvements, to allow these rolling icons to cruise another day. "We've got to save them," said [Troy Hildebrand]. "If we don't, who will?
[Mike Rodrigues] is one of the first points of contact for those with lofty dreams of gleam and engine scream. Devising a realistic build plan is key to customer satisfaction. "I always put myself on the other side of the counter," said Rodrigues. Such was the case with the '69 Chevy Malibu ra...

NAIROBI, Kenya -- The American crew of a hijacked U.S.-flagged ship retook control of the vessel from Somalian pirates Wednesday but the captain was still being held hostage in a lifeboat, according to crew members.
S. officials said an American navy destroyer, the USS Bainbridge, was headed for the scene along with at least six other vessels. The Bainbridge was among several U.S. ships, including the cruiser USS Gettysburg, that had been patrolling in the region but were several hours away when the Maersk Alabama was seized.
The International Maritime Bureau says 260 crew on 14 hijacked ships are being held off the coast of Somalia, not including the U.S.-flagged ship seized Wednesday. The other ships include:

In preparation, I went home, had dinner, relaxed around the house, and then went to bed early to make sure I got a good night's sleep before the flight. Couple that with a feverish baby sleeping fitfully on my stomach, trying to will myself to sleep (which is impossible), and a house temperature of 80 degrees (even with the fan on) and the sleep probability factor dipped below 10 percent. After recounting the conversation with the Sq DO, my flight commander said, He doesn't have children, so he might not understand what it's like to raise kids nor appreciate how a sick child can impact everyone in the house.

To keep the hammer against Desjardins Sunday morning, [David Kraichy] blanked the first end, and it paid of with a big four in the second. "No, that didn't hurt at all," he said after the game. "It was a nice little break that we got early on.
With the Zone 16 Safeway provincial championship berth tucked neatly in his pocket, Kraichy was able to relax a little and put an edge on good work. "We needed to practise our peeling, so it gave us a good opportunity to practise that and the other things we need to work on. This (bonspiel) is our tune-up for the Safeway, so we're just trying to refine some things and work on others that we haven't had the opportunity to work on lately. We're a new team, so the more games, the better for us."
If you've been following the MCA Bonspiel, you may hav...

For more than an hour, the HMCS Winnipeg boarding crew he led had conducted a painstaking search of a fishing skiff in the Gulf of Aden. The sailors were sent to intercept the skiff after the crew on Winnipeg's helicopter -- a Sea King nicknamed The Palomino after a Winnipeg nightclub of the same name -- spotted two suspicious boats a few kilometres outside of the ship's patrol box.
As the heavily armed sailors picked through the rubbish, the skiff's three Somali crew members sat stoically at the stern, sticking firmly to their story: They were fisherman who, one of them sheepishly admitted, moonlighted by smuggling Somali refugees to Yemen. They claimed they were taken hostage by a pirate skiff that took some of their fishing gear the day before running into the Winnipeg. When they wer...

Two of the boys, now men, were riding their bikes on the defunct runway when they saw the Boeing 767 jet make an emergency landing. Crew members successfully glided the plane to safety on the old runway - then being used as a drag racing strip - causing only minor damage to the passenger jet.

Parliamentary democracy as it has been practised in Canada has been compromised," University of Toronto political scientist Nelson Wiseman says. "The precedent established means that under no conditions will the Governor General ever deny a prorogation to sitting prime ministers, no matter what the circumstances.
The Conservatives' deliberate demonization of the coalition as "socialists" and "separatists" as "treasonous" is the equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theatre. It is shameful. It is also dishonest.
Dust off his 2000 Alberta "firewall" letter. [Harper] runs a wrecking crew, not a government. Parliament's well is poisoned and separatist fires in Quebec and Alberta are stoked. Harper is prepared to use anything -- lies, vicious attack ads and even mob rule (Transport Minis...
