Intercultural communicative competence has been widely accepted as the aim of EFL teaching. In order to obtain this competence, Culture teaching must be implemented in the college English teaching. Textbooks have played a very important role in the course of teaching and learning. Textbooks introduce students the cultures of different countries and regions, thus making it convenient for students to exert a relatively remarkable influence on the fostering of students' cultural awareness and competence of intercultural communication. This paper focuses on the content analysis of the cultural content in College English (New) (henceforth, CE (New)).

You don't realize how much you're waiting (at Disney World) because you're very busy doing things in between. Your lineups are different. You get introduced to your ride, then to the theme of your ride and then to the ride. You don't have to repeat the process, you're always on your way out. Now we can have a closer relationship with the patient, respond to their needs faster and spend less time nursing the chart and more time nursing the patient," he said.
"It's the push-pull effect. There's the push from the waiting room to send patients in but we also wanted to create a culture of pull. 'I'm not busy so give me some work.' We've been very successful with that.
"All of these process improvements are being expanded to other (ERs). We're seeing improvements and we expect more. It's a ...

I don't think we can use the emergency room being busy as an excuse," [Brock Wright] said. "This patient fell between the cracks and we don't know why.
Premier Gary Doer called the death "unacceptable and tragic" while the Tory opposition pounced on the NDP's "culture of neglect" in the health-care system, calling it the "the worst emergency-room failure in Manitoba history."
"Common sense would have dictated someone would have gone to check up on him," Tory Leader Hugh McFadyen said. "... I hope we don't have a situation where the man was neglected because he was homeless." [Theresa Oswald] said because of the death the province has ordered all emergency rooms to have nurses or doctors ask all waiting patients if they have been triaged -- if they have spoken to a nurse to be prioriti...

The MJHL is really improved. These guys are now among the others, the traditional strongholds like the BCHL," said [McGuire]. "There are players in this game, Corey Trivino of the Stouffville Spirit, and Joe Colborne of the Camrose Kodiaks, that will be first-round draft picks in Ottawa this summer. They'll be on our list as first-round selections. But a lot of the scouts, we'll be watching the Manitoba kids. This is our opportunity to see how they compete against the players we see in Ontario all the time.
"The kids in the MJHL have a similar culture to us," said Bemidji recruiter and assistant coach Ted Belisle. "We like our locker-room and we like the culture in Bemidji, Minnesota. The kids from the MJHL fit in. And we've got three coaches here all from smalltown Canada. Two from B...

For us, the work is just starting in implementing the treaty," [Kim Baird] told Windspeaker. "We have to replace the Indian Act within the next year for our community. And we have a bunch of rebuilding to do that rests solely on us. That's just at a local level. At a national level, governments need to be more proactive in resolving outstanding issues of First Nations people, whether it be civic claims or treaties or self-governance agreements. I don't think we can get very far if those issues aren't advanced.
"I don't think it's true sustainability unless it looks at every aspect of society," she said. "And again, I think it's far more than an environmental issue. It has to do with socio-economic issues, culture and well-being of everyone within ecosystems."

I think we are doing pretty good," said Eric Robinson, Manitoba's culture, heritage and tourism minister. "We have made some substantial improvements since 2000, but I agree there is always room for improvements.
Conservative Leader Hugh McFadyen said the NDP government maintains a culture of secrecy and calls Premier Gary Doer the "stonewaller-in-chief." He said the modest alterations announced yesterday were insignificant.
"They are seven years into their mandate, and what they are now suggesting is half-baked," he said. "We are beyond the stage of considering changes. It is needed now."
