The impact of the Internet on how and when individuals decide to adopt new products and services remains a critical yet under examined topic. This research examines the linkage between Internet use and the new product diffusion process through the examination of a very large, detailed, Internet usage dataset. Our 12-month longitudinal analysis of 34,731 customers' Internet related behaviours indicates that the introduction of Internet based services is positively correlated with expedited adoption behaviour. Customers that utilized a company's Internet related service innovations were over twice as likely to adopt the company's new product offering during the first year of introduction. We conclude by discussing the implications and need for additional research.

Factors associated with adopting and resisting mobile banking technologies were investigated among university students in Taiwan. Adoption factors included the belief that mobile banking helps fulfill personal banking needs, provides location-free conveniences, and is cost effective. The primary factors associated with resistance included concerns over system configuration security and basic fees for mobile banking web connections. The theoretical and applied implications of these findings are discussed.

Drawing upon existing literature, this paper briefly discusses aspects of conspicuous consumption. Analysis of the construct has been done in the perspective of changing capitalist structure and dominating socio-philosophical ideologies, especially postmodernism. Effort has been made to extend the original concept and propose necessary refinement and integration of relevant concepts to enable a meaningful, holistic, and contemporary interpretation of the said construct. This paper examines different aspects of consumer behavior, helps to generate some important directions for future research in the field, and also discusses these issues in the context of the transitional socio-economic background of India.

This article explores the concept of the school as information ecology and proposes the use of this concept as a framework for studying the dynamics of online information-seeking behaviors of educators within the ecology. From an earlier study of teachers' online information-seeking behaviors using online survey and interview methods, four themes emerged: currency of information, sparking of ideas and gaining personal knowledge, resource management and the role of time, and webs of sharing. A conceptual framework intended to predict the number of online purchases made by Internet users in an early stage market is presented and examined using data collected in Israel. Those more likely to report buying online saw low costs and substantial benefits associated with e-shopping. They were experienced Internet users who valued online information searching. They were also more likely to shop over the phone, but did not especially like to go shopping. Finally, they tended to be the primary purchaser in the household. Our framework enhances understanding of the factors affecting consumers' online shopping behaviour, aides in profiling typical electronic shoppers, and may help practitioners develop more personalized marketing programs to increase e-commerce sales.
