  • Efforts to integrate management of water and agriculture are already occurring in Manitoba. A recent analysis of Manitoba's Conservation Districts (CD) program by the International Institute for Sustainable Development noted that the community-based decision making approach of the CD program to water and soil conservation can play a leading role in supporting adaptation to climate change. The review found that CDs "consistently adapted to new conservation challenges, in some cases with completely unanticipated stakeholders and around unexpected issues."
