Wolf Orland Naumann was a friend in East Berlin 20 years ago. I'd like to contact him and you'd think that would be fairly easy in these connected times. His name, the Berlin police tell me, is very unusual. So unusual that Google regularly turns up only two hits -- a doctor in Berlin whose phone number rings "no longer in service" and the CEO of a small pump manufacturing company in the German hinterland.
When I started looking for Wolf, I knew that it was not likely that [Geraldine Flood] would get lucky quickly. After checking out more than 4,000 profiles and finding only one "Wolf" (no last name, age 70), I realized that there are tens of thousands of "single" men looking for love on that one site alone.

It's a pretty easy business model in that we organize fun things for busy people who don't have time to play as hard as they work," says [Travis Hartley], who was in town recently for the launch of Meet Market Adventures Winnipeg.
"All of my friends are married and have kids, so it's hard to get out," says [Kurt Asher], who has gone to other singles' events in the city and found them enjoyable. "This looked like the same kind of thing -- a chance to get out and meet people.

This is a very convincing and funny production. Claude Lavoie, as [Martin], has wonderfully expressive body language and timing. His facial expressions and intonation bring a surprisingly varied range of emotions to life. Roger Labelle plays [Andr]é as a hesitant, excitable, romantic character, wrestling with shyness yet very likable in a gauche, socially clumsy fashion. Chantale Richer, as Chantal, plays her character as edgy, poised, confident, yet undermined by doubts about what she wants in life, especially from men. Lyette Goyette, as Valérie, brought subtlety to her role as she changes from a coy, hesitant divorcée into a self-confident woman. She has a role that is intrinsically understated, and therefore quite challenging.
