That's not to say Manitoba's own oil companies have been sitting on the sidelines. The possibility of expanded drilling by Virden-based Tundra Oil and Gas, among other companies in the Hartney-Souris and Regent oil fields, has people talking in Manitoba's oil belt, such as Regent-area farmer Richard Sexton. Tundra drilled a fourth well on Sexton's property just before Christmas, one of 18 dug in the Regent Field in 2007. Over the summer, Tundra conducted seismic tests on 542 kilometres from the Souris-Hartney field to the U.S. border, and further tests may be in the offing.
