Who would have believed it? Controversy, speculation, and intrigue, all associated with the publication of a rather staid and proper publication manual. In case you missed it, all of this and more occurred in the context of the release of the sixth edition of the venerable American Psychological Association (APA) publication manual. What made this release so noteworthy, albeit not for good reasons, was that the first printing of the manual was rife with errors (including style rules, examples of the rules, sample papers, and numerous typos), and the slow (and some would say shortsighted) response of the publisher did nothing to improve the situation.
