[Doron Waldman]'s lawyer, Thomas Higgins, has a motion stating his intention to fight the charges on the grounds police used "entrapment" to build their case. Police say he sent a $60 U.S. down payment to "secure his reservation" in October 2007 and agreed to pay a total of $600 "for the opportunity to have sex with children of a six-day period. Waldman's lawyer claims he was "set up" by police, who were waiting for him at the Tucson airport when he arrived on Nov. 19. Police say he was in possession of four digital cameras wrapped as gifts and $1,400 in U.S. currency.

[Ernie Dew], 49, was caught in an undercover sting operation doing four separate cocaine deals with his former friend, police agent Franco Atanasovic. They were captured on audio and video surveillance. The Crown called Dew a commercial drug trafficker who was at the "highest level of sophistication. Dew planned to launch a legal challenge claiming that he was the victim of police entrapment. Defence lawyer Sarah Inness argued police induced her client to sell drugs and that all charges should be dismissed. At issue was the police use of Atanasovic, a career criminal they paid more than $525,000 to infiltrate the Hells Angels beginning in 2005. He wore a secret wiretap and allowed police to gather video surveillance of drug deals going down.
