At the end of the 20th century, Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools has appeared. Especially after our country's accession to WTO, the development of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools has remarkably developed with a larger size appearance over time. As a result, the educational levels constantly improve and educational models increasingly diversify. However, with the profound development of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, various new questions emerge. The existing researches have broad discussed and proposed some constructive strategies and suggestions. Thus, those researches concentrate on the existing problems in Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools with specific regional observation and lack of general analysis.

Reduced to its essence, LEED is a building certification process. It defines what is "green" by providing a common framework or language, and verifies actual performance through benchmarking and measurement. It is tied to five key areas: human and environmental health; sustainable site development; water savings; energy efficiency; materials selection; and indoor environmental quality. The LEED rating system has been designed to provide the building industry with consistent, credible standards for what constitutes a green building. The first step to LEED certification is to register a building project. To earn certification, a building project must meet certain prerequisites and performance benchmarks (credits) within each category. Projects are awarded certified, silver, gold, or plati...

Market expansion is a very important strategic option in the developing economies. Literature on marketing to the "bottom of the pyramid" and the "blue ocean" strategy has brought to the fore the issue of direct involvement of manufacturers or corporations in expanding markets. Though the "bottom of the pyramid" and the "blue ocean" strategy frameworks are important references for development of conceptual framework for market expansion, neither of these can be considered as a complete conceptualization in itself. The authors synthesize extant knowledge on the subject and provide a conceptual framework by looking into fundamental issues such as what is a market, what is market expansion, and what factors affect market expansion.
Unlike in case of the "blue ocean" strategy framework, th...

Perspectives on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Mining, and Sustainable Development Taking Harper's and the World Bank's positions together as representative of the current dominant view of the role of foreign direct investment in mining in Latin America, we must ask under what conditions mining activity might contribute to poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Harper points to the world-class corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Canadian mining companies, along with the Canadian government's National Roundtable report on CSR and the Extractive Sector in Developing Nations (Interview, 2007) and the World Bank's Extractive Industries Review (EIR) points to the enabling conditions of "pro-poor public and corporate governance," "effective social and envir...

This paper contributes to an understanding of the historical development of management accounting by presenting an example of cost accounting practice in Portugal in the first half of the 18th century. It explores the integration of cost and financial accounting systems within a double-entry accounting framework by the Silk Factory Company (SFC) between 1745 and 1747. The SFC's methods of product costing, pricing, inventory accounting, expense recognition, and production control are reviewed within the political, economic, and social context of Portugal at the time. The SFC is revealed to have used job-order product costing, with allocations of overhead costs, allowances for wastage and shrinkage, and elements of rudimentary standard costing. Our findings provide evidence of the existen...
