Boasting one of the deepest harbours in the world, Halifax has nurtured a strong maritime heritage since the first European explorers dropped anchor almost six centuries ago. To find out about the city's connections with the sea, there's no better place to begin exploring than at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. From its humble beginnings after the Second World War, the museum's collection has swelled to almost 25,000 artifacts.
