ST. JOHN'S, N.L. -- Premier Danny Williams says he is concerned that the province's agreement with Inco (TSX:N) isn't strong enough to guarantee the company will build a proposed nickel-processing smelter in the province as planned. The St. John's, N.L.-based subsidiary of Fortis Inc. (TSX:FTS) announced Thursday it will pay $51.5 million to Lodge Motel (Kelowna) Ltd. for the Holiday Inn Express and Suites and Best Western in Medicine Hat, Alta., along with Ramada Hotel and Suites in Lethbridge, Alta., and Holiday Inn Express in Kelowna, B.C. The company's profits beat Wall Street's expectations and its chief financial officer said UPS is looking forward to "a good holiday season.
