The photos and write-ups in the the May 28 Free Press about Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko's visit to Manitoba and in particular to Winnipeg were overwhelming in all respects. As mentioned in the paper there are over 150,000 Manitobans who are of Ukrainian descent with strong ties to Ukraine from historical, cultural and economical perspectives. Therefore it is no wonder that there is a close political connection between Manitoba and Ukraine in reference to the many values that both entities possess.

Recent studies of publication patterns in accounting history portray a myopic and introspective discipline. Analyses reveal the production and dissemination of accounting history knowledge which focus predominantly on Anglo-American settings and the age of modernity. Limited opportunities exist for contributions from scholars working in languages other than English. Many of the practitioners of accounting history are also shown to be substantially disconnected from the wider community of historians.
