The objective of this study is to analyse influences of traditional Chinese roof construction elements to the roof design of Kampung Laut's Old Mosque in Malaysia. The result of this study can be used as an evidence that Islam came to South East Asia (the Malay Archipelagos) from East (China) in contrast to the most arguments claimed that Islam came from West (India and Arabian region). This study conducts roof construction analysis on Kampung Laut's Old Mosque (KLOM), which is the oldest mosque in Malaysia. There are several historical studies already shows evidences to support this argument. This argument however will be supported through architectural study. Kuwait soldiers raised the national flag in their free capital today and the U.S.-led paratroopers landed near a southern Iraqi town in an attempt to block the escape route for Iraqi forces retreating under relentless allied attacks. An assault force of more than 100,000 soldiers from the U.S. army's 7th Corps swept hundreds of kilometres through the desert west of Kuwait in an effort to execute Gen. Colin Powell's order to "cut off and kill" the Republican Guard, the heart of the Iraqi military machine.

The Saudis' need to import food is sure to increase. For decades, their government has poured money into farm subsidies, producing some of the world's costliest wheat. As a result, the largely desert country is self-sufficient in wheat, though it has to import rice.
Saudis are thinking of buying rice farms in Thailand, the world's biggest rice exporter. Rice prices are climbing especially fast, as several rice-producing countries have restricted exports, fearing domestic shortages. Thailand has even flirted with the idea of an OPEC-style rice cartel.
Investors from elsewhere in the Gulf, including Qatar and Abu Dhabi, are scouring the world for undeveloped farmland to buy, especially in Pakistan and Sudan. Libyans and other Arabs have been checking out Ukraine. Kuwaitis have been lookin...
