The research centre will take a new approach to academic research, which has historically been criticized for not involving Aboriginal people in research being done within their communities, [Cecilia Reynolds] explained. Instead of merely conducting research on Aboriginal communities, the research centre will involve Aboriginal people in ways in which they will benefit.
What we are wanting to do is start up some distance delivery master's of education programs aimed at Aboriginal people and we call it distributed learning," Reynolds said. "They might have to come to a central location in a northern remote area but they could pick their course up then through computer technology and simulcast television.
"A variety of distance education or distributed learning techniques could be applie...

It's not often fans give standing ovations to a video screen, but they did when [Frank Zappa] appeared several times throughout the evening in rare footage behind the musicians on stage who backed their hero during his guitar solo on Black Napkins, while he recited the absurdist lyrics to Montana and delivered his rapid fire commentary on religious fanaticism during Dumb All Over with the unforgettable line about being created in God's image: "If we're dumb, then God is dumb, and maybe even a little ugly on the side.
Witnessing [Dweezil] tackle Frank's blitzkrieg-quick leads inspired more ovations. He claimed it took him two years of training and learning new techniques to play his dad's material and there was no choice but to doubt it after witnessing him effortlessly rip off solos i...

With the Team Canada selection camp opening Monday, Voth said, "I am working as hard as I can to improve my skills, so I want to play a lot and touch the ball as much as I can.
"It's a great chance to get our foot in the door in Europe," said [Rob Smith]. "My wife Lindsay (Poggemiller) and I are excited about experiencing something new together."
"I was pleased with my steady progress throughout the session and was able to bring the car up to speed," said [S Dave Richert]. "Unfortunately my data acquisition encountered an error so I was unable to review any of the information, and that was a disappointment."

The research is conducted to examine whether lecturers at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perlis practise collaborative learning in their classrooms. If they do, what kinds of activities are carried out with their students and the reasons they are being carried out. In order to get the data needed for the study, questionnaires were distributed to the lecturers randomly i.e. 10 lecturers for each faculty. These lecturers are asked to rate their preferences for practising collaborative learning in their teaching. Then, the reasons for collaborative learning practices chosen in classrooms are scrutinized. Manitoba farmers are already pretty adept at juggling several crops. If you travel through the American Midwest, for example, the crop "rotation" consists of corn after soybeans, or soybeans after corn, and even corn on corn.
Harvesting protocols vary. Special equipment might be required and each time farmers switch crops during harvest, that equipment must be cleaned and reset. Manitoba has become one of North America's biggest bean-producing areas in recent years. But farmers here have been on a steep learning curve for cutting and handling techniques to reduce or eliminate the amount of dirt that gets harvested with the low-growing beans. Too much "dirt tag" downgrades the crop.
Extension workers running tests a few years ago found that while some farmers were getting 35-bushel canol...
