Brent Atatise, 30, will be sentenced this spring on several offences including three counts of sexual assault. A dangerous-offender designation means Atatise would get an indefinite prison sentence and would have a tough time convincing the parole board to release him. The Crown could also seek a long-term offender designation, which would add 10 years of parole-like supervision to any prison sentence Atatise receives. He remains in custody.
