Downsizing, increased emphasis on quality, team approach and various other new business realities in the 1990s have made middle-level management jobs scarce. Moreover, the middle-level management jobs that remain are not as they used to be. Therefore, top management must be honest about these new realities, revamp old reward structures and retrain middle managers. In their turn, middle managers must accept the new realities and acquire new skills demanded by the new business environment.

Bill Comstock, a labour relations specialist with WAPSO, confirmed that the union has filed an application with the Manitoba Labour Board to represent the WRHA's community team managers. They came to us," Comstock said of the WRHA managers. "It was an issue of needing a voice, advocacy. This is WAPSO's first move to represent middle managers outside of city hall. Although WAPSO represents middle management staff at the Riverview Health Centre, that was a hold-over from when that facility used to be owned by the City of Winnipeg. Comstock said there is a possibility that WAPSO would also look at organizing managers at city hospitals managed by the WRHA. Those individuals, however, had not contacted the union.
This paper carries on the analysis of the factors affecting entrepreneur's human capital pricing in venture capital, focusing on the much-dimensionality characteristic, then establishes a logical and comprehensive theory frame which can reflect all the factors affecting entrepreneur's human capital pricing. Further by using covariance structure model (CSM), we make an empirical analysis of these factors. The result shows, in venture capital the control rights of entrepreneur is the most important factor affecting the entrepreneur's human capital pricing, the scale of enterprise is the least one, with the enterprise management performance in the middle.
Many companies can prevent corporate fraud by knowing the warning signs of fraud and initiating measures to stop its practice. Internal fraud can be committed by top management, middle managers and employees. KPMG's 1993 survey of Canada's 1,000 largest companies revealed that 56% of respondents are burdened with fraud problems. Forensic accountants attribute the high number of cases of fraud to the economic recession. They also indicated that weak management controls and poor corporate ethics among employees contribute to fraud.

This study investigates the inter- and intra-comparison of life and work values held by managerial employees working in large and well-established organisations in Singapore. Three groups of workers, namely the Singaporean Chinese, Japanese expatriates and PRC Chinese expatriates were surveyed to measure life and work values and job satisfaction. Our findings have demonstrated that there are significant variations in the life values and work values amongst the three nationalities.
