Tax credits and special grants are available, but they are useless if Mr. [Rich] has no interest in restoring the 2,100-square-foot home. Ross McGowan, CEO of CentreVenture, said the agency is committed to saving Kelly House because of its significance as the area's last house. Shareholders are looking for the chance to vote on an offer to purchase the Crocus assets by GrowthWorks Capital of Vancouver. GrowthWorks' lawyers argued that shareholders stand a better chance of receiving greater returns from their investments if GrowthWorks acquires the assets and continues to manage them, rather than have the receiver wind down the fund by selling off the holdings one deal at a time.
