For me hotdogs are beyond criticism -- they can be limp, spiceless, served in pappy buns, and I'll still eat them (it must have something to do with childhood memories). The difference between this garlic sausage and other East European varieties seems to be mainly in the spelling -- kielbasa if it's Polish, kolbasa if it's Ukrainian (with variations in both spellings). RICH though our city is in ethnic cuisines, we don't have many outlets for Portuguese food.
