Various random disturbances that happen in the process of complex products (ship) production cannot feedback timely, and the plans of job-shop operation are too rough to instruct job-shop production. The purpose of this study is to solve the problems above, help the course of complex products (ship) job-shop production runs orderly and efficiently, and improve the job-shop on-site management level. In this paper, we proposed complex products job-shop scheduling system based on MES. The system adopts six-level, refined plan and scheduling mechanism. Its key part is the job-shop scheduling model with man-machine coordinated mechanism. What's more, an improved Genetic Algorithm based on TOC is proposed to make the optimized algorithm module of the system more scientific and effective.

Incidence of flood has been on the increase in Ilorin for sometime; and this exemplifies the problem operating in most urban centres in Nigeria. Increase in runoff production in an urbanized catchment is a function, among other factors of to increase in percentage paved area brought about by deforestation activities and poor environmental attitude of the people. This study examines the relationship between runoff discharge and basin characteristics in Ilorin. Data used were collected directly from the field over a period of one calendar year. Rainfall data were collected in each basin using a standard rainguage of 20cm orifice while basin discharge was collected twice daily (8.00am and 6.30pm) using fabricated staff gauge graduated in centimeter. Basin morphometric attributes were compu...

In her commentary, Professor Irene Ng offers a perspicacious assessment of the strengths and limitations of Messinger et al's article in the last issue of CJAS, "Seven Challenges to Combining Human and Automated Service." Professor Ng does not take issue with the author's conceptual framework or with the seven challenges that they identify, but instead suggests that their treatment of the topic could be deeper in two primary ways. In a nutshell, Ng argues that combining human and automated services requires both a systems perspective and a value perspective. They completely agree. Indeed, they see Ng's various suggestions regarding their seven challenges as revolving around her call for a coherent systems approach to hybrid service delivery. Echoing Professor Ng's message, they close wi...
