How do you evaluate? When it comes to determining the value and quality your adviser is providing, think back to the promises made when you engaged that adviser. Were you promised "advice"? Did the firm talk about concepts such as "wealth management"? Did they suggest they would provide "comprehensive services and advice"? When you think back to the promises made and the positioning of the adviser and his or her firm, you may find that the actual services provided have been nowhere near what was promised. For example, you might be working with a firm that advertises "comprehensive wealth management" and simply sells you investment products.
