The landmark Galt MacDermot, Gerome Ragni and James Rado musical, on view at the outdoor Delacorte Theater through Aug. 31, always exuded a deliberate, often cheerful sense of chaos, a chaos that has been nicely captured in director Diane Paulus' kinetic, turbocharged revival. The show's loosely constructed book is an outline on which to hang the vibrant rock melodies of MacDermot and the pungent, often deliberately provocative lyrics of Ragni and Rado.
