An edited book often suffers from a fragmented overall portrayal of the primary area of interest. In this book, the editor reduced this problem in three ways: by clustering chapters into one of three areas; by providing structural advice for the novice qualitative researcher in the introductory chapter, questions and answers, and glossary; and by providing an editor's introduction in each chapter. In addition, the use of the first person by all of the authors provided a more cohesive and personal presentation that is highly effective for discussions about qualitative research. Nevertheless, the book does seem somewhat fragmented because most chapters, with the exception of those in the Clinical Practices section, stand alone and the authors do not refer to each other. This study investigates tattoo removal as a means of identity negotiation using Brewer's (1991) optimal distinctiveness theory as the conceptual foundation. Twenty-two informants who ranged in age from 19 to 43 participated in in-depth interviews telling their stories of tattoo acquisition and removal. Findings unpack the relationship between consumption, disposition, and the different aspects of the self-concept. Informants who felt overly individuated (or assimilated) in a frequently activated social identity group because of tattoo acquisition, compensated for this conflict by enhancing feelings of affiliation (or differentiation) in another frequently activated social identity via tattoo removal. This study extends previous research on the role of consumption in shaping the maintena...

Rewards systems are one of the most significant issues of the human resource management. Throughout the literature, it is obvious that theorists and academics, as well as practitioners and managers emphasize the important factor of rewards. Additionally, job satisfaction is another crucial term within the same body of literature. Job satisfaction is likely to provide employees of all levels with feelings of fulfillment, achievement and even pleasure for their job. Thus, such feelings can make people more productive, creative and therefore more profitable for the organization. Furthermore, feelings of job satisfaction can strengthen the commitment and loyalty of employees with the organization, which is very necessary in present times where all firms are looking for competitive advantage...

The Internet Age can lead to three possible scenarios for school libraries: status quo, change, or obsolescence. This study examines the ramifications of school library Web sites for the work done by Israeli school libraries and the services they provide. It is based on an analysis of the Internet sites of 78 school libraries in Israel, in-depth interviews with nine librarians in Israel, questionnaires completed by 22 librarians in the United States and other countries, and a review of literature on the subject. The findings of the study suggest that school libraries in Israel are in the status quo phase; however, there is a slight move toward the change scenario in which the library will continue to exist but will offer a different mix of services.
