A Manitoba paraplegic who made international headlines after surviving a violent attack in Australia in March was the guilty party Friday when he was fined $1,100 for a road rage conviction.
I think it's very unusual," he began. "Well, I shouldn't say unusual. It think it would be inconceivable -- as you say -- if there were calls of a higher priority" waiting in the queue. "This call was designated as an 03," he said. "It was reported as someone trying to run the complainant off the road. "Whether the complainant has an association with WPS or not," [Kirsten Andersson] concluded, "the officers in this case have used their considerable discretion to encourage rather than discourage this particular incident of road rage."
Road Rage" is a federal offense; and after his court date, it cost him a permanent mark on his record, $2,000 in lawyer fees, $500 in fines, 2 years probation, and $ 168 worth of damage to my car. Most states have a telephone number that motorists can use to report dangerous drivers to local law enforcement officials.
