  • La vie en rose's interest in women's cultural events and feminist artistic creations is hardly a phenomenon of its own invention. The magazine started to publish after a long and intense decade of feminist activism: a decade of close convergence among women's cultural and political groups. Already during the sixties, socialist journals such as Parti Pris (1963-1968) used to publish critical analysis of current political and social issues as well as of the arts and cultural productions with several authors contributing to both types of articles (Laurin, 2005). At the start of second wave feminism in Québec, women's groups - in and outside Montréal - were engaged in all kinds of collective action developed and organized around several issues related to women's social and economic conditio...

  • At the end of the 20th century, Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools has appeared. Especially after our country's accession to WTO, the development of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools has remarkably developed with a larger size appearance over time. As a result, the educational levels constantly improve and educational models increasingly diversify. However, with the profound development of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, various new questions emerge. The existing researches have broad discussed and proposed some constructive strategies and suggestions. Thus, those researches concentrate on the existing problems in Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools with specific regional observation and lack of general analysis.

  • Intercultural communicative competence has been widely accepted as the aim of EFL teaching. In order to obtain this competence, Culture teaching must be implemented in the college English teaching. Textbooks have played a very important role in the course of teaching and learning. Textbooks introduce students the cultures of different countries and regions, thus making it convenient for students to exert a relatively remarkable influence on the fostering of students' cultural awareness and competence of intercultural communication. This paper focuses on the content analysis of the cultural content in College English (New) (henceforth, CE (New)).

  • The debate regarding Canadian training models continues today. Despite the disagreements, empirical research on the scientistpractitioner model in Canada is scant. Indeed, implementation of science training in clinical psychology programmes has not been systematically studied (Merlo, Collins, & Bernstein, 2008). The paucity of empirical research is made worse because student opinions on the matter have largely been unsolicited. Preliminary evidence suggests that American student opinions regarding the scientist-practitioner model vary widely, with some being staunch advocates and others describing it as a training anachronism ([Aspenson] et al., 1993). More recently, the Council of University Directors of Clinical Psychology (CUDCP) - a nonprofit organisation whose purpose is to fur...

  • Our study shows that Sichuan Province has established a modern normal education system with its unique features, in which the courses offered continue to be optimized and practice teaching attracts increasing respect. However, the teaching of professional knowledge and general knowledge about education still cannot strike a balance. The teachers' qualification credentialing system guarantees professional development; the position appointment system has taken effect, but the personnel quota system needs more flexibility. Teachers' salary is on the small side. Schools, colleges, and universities differ greatly in teachers' welfare due to absence of a corresponding security system protecting teachers' rights and interests. Educational authorities on the whole have experienced growing aware...

  • A culture of inquiry is emerging from research-based information literacy instruction that takes place in school libraries. An ethnographic approach views the culture of inquiry through two lenses: (1) cultural anthropology and an emerging theory of evidence-based information literacy instruction, and (2) Tylor's anthropological definition of culture which serves as a framework to examine the knowledge, beliefs, art, morals, law, and customs of instruction. An emerging theory of information literacy instruction unique to school libraries identifies constructivist learning theory as the knowledge source and evidence-based practice as the underlying belief. The art of teaching in this culture is described in ten corollaries to the theory. Morals and law emerge from 21st century initiative...
