We've been running like dogs since the spring with a couple of days off since July. To play the kind of music we play and tour, it's a real-life commitment in so many ways. Now we'll see how it goes with the commercial aspect -- this making-a-living thing is a new development," says [Leonard Podolak], following the statement with an infectious laugh. It's friendlier, broken in like old shoes. Because it's been done before a lot of different ways, you're free to do what you want to do with it. It's great to put your own stamp on it and update it.
"Winning a Grammy is like nothing else," he says. "I didn't realize how much I wanted one of those things. It's your peers and a lot of people vote in that category, from classical musicians to jazz guys to rock 'n' rollers. Everybody knows folk music -- that's where all music kind of comes from.
