• Singer-Songwriter Loves to Fiddle with Traditional Music

It's friendlier, broken in like old shoes. Because it's been done before a lot of different ways, you're free to do what you want to do with it. It's great to put your own stamp on it and update it. "Winning a Grammy is like nothing else," he says. "I didn't realize how much I wanted one of those things. It's your peers and a lot of people vote in that category, from classical musicians to jazz guys to rock 'n' rollers. Everybody knows folk music -- that's where all music kind of comes from. "They're a great group and so talented. They're young, but professional. They're young veterans," he says.
