Using only the most basic level of knowledge management skills-for example, cramming and memorizing information, added to the increasing abundance of information-has aggravated the situation and created a state of information overload for many students. Knowledge management enables them to move to a higher level of knowledge skills: teaching students the skills they need for self-management, for time and anxiety management, for interpreting exams, and for lifelong learning.

A relational model of information literacy (Bruce, 1997) has been used as a framework for examining national policies, teacher education, curriculum integration, and assessment issues relating to information literacy and lifelong learning. Initiatives by a range of stakeholders are included to illustrate shared responsibility and support for the educational goals. Successful development of the information and communications technology capacity in schools and extension of technological skills of teachers have yet to be matched in teacher education by explicit, systematic attention to the broader requirements of information literacy. National curriculum documents imply an intention to ensure that information literacy continue to be embedded in essential learning areas, but indications are...

This paper defines and analyzes the concept of the performance of university teachers and identifies the four variables of organizational commitment, job stress, mental health and achievement motivation. Thus, this paper puts forward the hypothesis that the four variables-organizational commitment, job stress, mental health, and achievement motivation play a part in teachers' job performance. Finally the conceptual model of the job performance of teachers is established based on the above four variables. In research based on interviews, a survey was conducted among some teachers in colleges and universities in Xi'an. Through SEM analysis, the results show that the sustained commitment has a negative effect on work performance while emotional commitment has a positive effect on work perf...

Guided by Colella, Paetzold, and Belliveau (2004), we surveyed 305 employees on their reactions towards coworkers with mental illness. Co-workers were less likely to view longer/more frequent work breaks as appropriate accommodations for the mentally ill relative to flexible hours, banking of overtime hours, and counselling. Moreover, employees who believed that co-workers with mental illness were being equitably (or fairly) treated at work were more likely to report that they would self-disclose-and seek assistance for-a mental illness. Finally, employees with workplace contact with the mentally ill were more likely to support hiring people with mental illness.

While there has been some controversy in the past over the utility of the emotional intelligence construct, whether measured as a performance-based ability (e.g., Roberts, Zeidner, & Matthews, 2001) or as linked to personality traits (e.g., Petrides & Furnham, 2000), it remains of interest in the scholarly community. Researchers have continued to strengthen the psychometric properties of the currently available measures, and studies using the construct continue to be prevalent (e.g., Austin, Saklofske, Huang & McKenney, 2004; Mayer, Salovey, Caruso, & Sitarenios, 2003). According to Salovey and [Mayer, J. D] (1990), emotional intelligence includes an "ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and to use this information to...
