Today, more than ever, a strong multi-disciplinary team is essential in order to capitalize on the many different kinds of opportunities that there are to provide real property appraisal and related consulting services. Teams can be built using existing in-house resources, by developing the talent of employees, and by building alliances with other professionals. A strong team is one that has a clear understanding of corporate objectives and trust in the collective strength that working together brings. Organizations that are team-focused make available a wide range of resources to help team members improve and expand their skill sets. A good mentor program should be based on honest discussion between the mentor and the mentee, in which constructive criticism is encouraged on both sides....

Basic personal background and interests will be filed under an "info" tab, for instance, while news about users' buddies' latest activities will land under a "feed" tab, pictures will be corralled in a "photo" section and applications will be easily located under a "programs" tab. That content is now scattered, creating a confusing mishmash that has frustrated some Facebook users.
Despite those hiccups, Facebook has emerged as Silicon Valley's hottest startup since Internet search leader Google Inc., which recently has been losing some of its prized employees to Facebook. Ben Ling, a former top engineer at Google, is part of the team working on Facebook's overhaul.
[Mark Zuckerberg]'s decision to open Facebook to outside applications last year has played a key role in Facebook's rapid g...

Winnipeg is woefully behind other major centres in terms of cycling paths. As a fair-weather cyclist, I expect some paths to and around the downtown core for those wishing to commute by bicycle. Unfortunately, there are few, and what little there are we share with buses. Buses? I am so glad the city has paired the smallest and largest vehicles on the road to share a lane. I am just glad there aren't train tracks that run parallel with Main Street as I fear the city would designate a new train-cyclist lane.
I was excited to read the editorial Pucks to Pyongyang in Saturday's paper, because I was a member of the team that went to Pyongyang. And I'd like to correct two factual errors. First, the games took place in October, not last week. Second, you wrote that the team was made up of expa...

Corinne Hunt and [Omer Arbel] became a team, working together for 18 months, working out a way that her contemporary Aboriginal designs could be transferred to an undulating surface. Then it was up to the Royal Canadian Mint's 34 technicians to mastermind how to etch each of Hunt's separate designs onto the undulating surface of 1014 Olympic medals.
While the Olympic medals are circular, the Paralympics medals are a super-ellipse, or squared circle. Both are the same size and weigh between 500 to 576 grams, depending on the medal. They are some of the heaviest medals in Olympic and Paralympics history. The Olympic medals, which will be presented to the winners, are 100 mm in diameter and about six mm thick, while the Paralympics medals are 95 mm wide and about six mm thick.
The Olympic ...

In talking to them, they almost grieve more for the loss of our soldiers over their own because they realize the selflessness of our being here," said Lt-Col. Wayne Eyre, who led the three soldiers as commanding officer of the 3rd Battalion. But in Afghanistan, Eyre commands the Operational Mentor Liaison Team working with the Afghan army.
"He led from the front, he wouldn't let his soldiers do anything he wouldn't do first," he said.
"He's exactly the type of soldier, the type of NCO that we look up to, that his soldiers look up to, that the officers look for inspiration.

We're working on it," [Scott Arniel] said Wednesday about the team's concerns at centre. "It's something we've obviously talked about going back to September, that we've needed that centreman. Now more so. We're thin through the middle of the ice, especially with [Marty Murray] being banged up right now.
"Vancouver is also thin. They know they need somebody through that spot. Both organizations know there's a little bit of a need there. But they are (working) the phones. They've been doing it for two weeks here now. In the NHL it's tough to move people but they're trying hard.
"No, but I've been working on some lines, some comebacks for some of the ones I got last year," Arniel said. "They're an animated bunch and they're actually quite funny. There are some crude things that happened ...

We're going to need to play our best because to get St. Mary's into that sort of league-legend-type thing would be terrific for our school and our hockey program as well," said [Rebecca Hewett], 17, a Grade 12 defender who was also a member of Canada's national under-18 women's hockey team that competed in the first-ever World Women's Under-18 Hockey Championship Jan. 7-12 in Calgary. Also a member of the female AA Assiniboine Park Rangers, Hewett will attend the University of Connecticut next season on a hockey scholarship. "St. James have a great goaltender (Stacey Mikolayanko) and a hard-working team. We have a pretty quick team so we'll have to skate hard, tire them out and take it from there.
"St. Mary's is fierce competition, it's always been a really intense game whenever we've...

It took almost near Christmas for me to get a feel for everybody and for them to get a feel for Brad (Berry) and I," said Scott Arniel, who's tackling his first job as a professional head coach. "Some of these guys have had three coaches in three years. I know I differ a lot from Alain (Vigneault) and [Alain Vigneault] differs a lot from Randy (Carlyle). It was a case of finally everybody getting over things -- and there were lots of trials, errors, headaches and frustration -- until we finally clicked in there in December.
"One of my adjectives is probably hard-working," Arniel declared Tuesday as his team prepared to meet Omaha tonight at MTS Centre. "Our success isn't about a few individuals dominating and we're not about one line. Like Tuesday night, when all three lines scored a...
