Other items on the list council approved on Feb. 2 included an instrument landing system (ILS) for the municipal airport, improving the city's computer connectivity network, upgrades and improvements to the Third Street dam and a trio of minor upgrade projects to the city's water and wastewater treatment facilities. Errol Black (Riverview) to return approximately $50-million worth of upgrades to the industrial wastewater treatment facility to the city's infrastructure wish list and further, have Tweed push for the submission deadline to be extended to allow for council to make those changes.

University officials say the move is necessary to cut down on significant service fees from the credit card companies. Using a credit card for a long-term financing solution is a serious problem from a financial point of view, Lamont added.

This was a perfect race," [Justin Gatlin] said. "I am a competitor and I promised I would get the world record and I have done it.
"It is amazing I did it," Gatlin said. "It took a lot of discipline and dedication.
"She gave me the biggest hug," Gatlin said. "It felt like we did it and the team did it.

My well-optioned Journey R/T AWD tester chugged unleaded at the rate of 18.5 litres per 100 kilometres during my week with it. To put things in perspective, it's rated at 14.2 L/100 km in city driving. Now that's significantly better than my test average, but when compared with published figures from its competitors (after all, that's why we have official fuel consumption figures), it doesn't fare so well. But more on its competitors later.
I had high hopes for Dodge's replacement for the short-wheelbase minivan (the current Caravan comes only in extended "Grand" format), and on many measures it's a success. At a starting price of $19,985, there's substantial value in this new crossover. Larger than both the Mazda5 and Kia Rondo (both of which have a starting price within a few dollars...

BANFF, Alta. --The timing of the Kia Borrego sport-ute is not exactly the best. Neither is the launch of a Malibu-sized sedan with a 6.0-litre V8 engine (the Pontiac G8) or a full-sized Hyundai powered by an equally thirsty V8. These vehicles do, however, have one thing in common -- the execution of the end product exceeds expectation, and were it not for the current gas crunch the outlook for all might be rosier.
In the case of the Borrego, it is the sturdiness of the platform, the gusto of its engines and its towing capability that make it such an appealing truck. Anything that rides on body-on-frame construction can only be labelled as such. When the seven-passenger Borrego is launched this month, it will be offered in LX and EX Luxury trims with a choice of V6 and V8 engines.

This is the most interesting season we've seen in a very long time," says Sally Singer, Vogue's fashion news director. "Over the past few years, the changes that have come through fashion have been about refining bourgeois elegance, asking 'What defines a lady? Is it attention on the waist or trims like ribbons or crystals?' This season is a fundamental change in how you're going to get dressed in the morning.
"It hits just below the bum. It's flattering," she says. "It's also a tiny bit tailored. Granny cardigans that are too massive look like a woman 10 years ago who'd wear her husband's clothes," says [Lucy Sykes].
This season's styles require more thought from designers and manufacturers, says Vogue's Singer. "The clothes are beautifully designed. You can't make these shapes work ...

Yet, despite the sedan's sporty, muscular appearance, I was disappointed in the power coming from the Avenger's base four-cylinder engine, which churns out 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque.
The two other trims available are the SE and the RT models. The SE, the least expensive model, has a 2.4-litre engine with the same 173 horsepower and 16-inch wheels. The RT is the bruiser of the three, with a 3.5-litre engine that puts out a nice 235 horsepower and 232 lb.-ft. of torque and comes with a six-speed transmission. An all-wheel drive is only available on the RT model. Seventeen-inch wheels are standard with the SXT and 18-inch tires come with the RT, but are optional for the SXT.
