Recently, intellectual property right has played an important role in the world. How can this right be protected properly and people get interests from it as much as possible? This has become a hot topic currently. As one of the agreement of WTO, the TRIPS is a good answer for that question. Its protection to intellectual property right reaches an unprecedented height. However executing it in China exist problems. After that, from those differences, defects of the Chinese IP law are concluded. Some advices are suggested for amending relative laws, which is very necessary for protecting IP right in Chin...

Give [[Stephen Harper]] enough time and he'll explain how his government's current budgetary deficit is a direct result of Alexander Mackenzie's inability to prepare for the recession of the 1870s.
At least that time it wasn't "The Prime Minister" who stood before the media to say Canada's currency on the international stage wasn't worth a plug nickel because of the Liberals. It was Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon who said lack of support from Opposition Leader Michael Ignatieff had led to the world rejecting Canada for this most important appointment. 'Who?,' the 191 voting delegates were asking?
Just ask Conservative Senator Carolyn Stewart- Olsen. She took issue with a statement from Truth and Reconciliation Commissioner Wilton Littlechild who boasted that Canada's reputation inte...

There's a choice of two engines: a 4.7-litre V8 and the 5.7L V8 that also powers the Tundra pickup. The base engine, producing 276 horsepower and 313 pound-feet of torque and mated to a five-speed automatic, is standard in the SR5. The larger V8 is packaged in the Limited and Platinum models and is combined with a six-speed automatic.
The 5.7L not only kicks out more power -- 381 horses and 401 lb-ft of torque -- it's actually more fuel efficient, thanks to two overdrive gears in the tranny. It's rated at 16.3 litres per 100 kilometres in city driving, just a few drops more than the smaller V8 (16.1 L/100 km), but it does better on the highway, consuming 11.2 L/100 km as compared with the 4.7L's 12.3.
The new Lexus LX 570 was also subjected to the same roads and off-road run, and it per...

Both the mosque and the temple were really eye-opening how they were different from Christianity," Chloe Werle explains over the lunch break at the multi-ethnic foot court at The Forks. "The whole religious views are totally different. At the Hindu temple, they worship the cobra and the monkey. It's nice to see different things all the time.
"The woman was saying it was kind of a personal choice about how committed you are to it," she says, referring to the explanation given by Qamer Hameed, co-ordinator of education at Islamic Social Services Association. "Here (in Canada) you're given a personal choice, but in other places you're not."
"High school students will ask about issues in the news," says Hameed, 28, who recently graduated with a degree in religion from the University of Wi...

I have had the good fortune of spending a number of vacations in both countries and will continue to do so, without having to avoid either because of their style of government, or policies I don't happen to agree with. My first trip to Cuba was in the 70's, long before the brand name hotel properties were ever built. We stayed in the confiscated homes of the Americans whose properties were nationalized. My most recent was a couple of years ago when we stayed at a five-star Sandals Resort. The Cubans recognized that partnerships with the private sector were an important route to take in order to sustain their economy. Americans do not enjoy the privilege of vacationing in this lush island only 90 miles from their southernmost tip. Canada was one of the first nations to recognize Castr...

I am more suspicious about the extent to which that (the rise of the loonie) has a profound impact ... Travel to the U.S. was up, but if you look at the month of August, travel from the U.S. to Canada was actually up," said Eric Lascelles, chief economics and rate strategist at TD Economics and author of Monday's report on cross-border shopping.
Canadians made a record number of overnight flights to the U.S. in August. Residents of Canada took 498,000 overnight plane trips to the U.S., an increase of 2.3 per cent on July, according to Statistics Canada.
