Clara Nashacappo was this year's recipient of the Adult Leadership Award in the Saskatchewan First Nations Network on Disabilities/health category. Nashacappo is from Kawacatoose First Nation. Born with polio in her left leg, Nashacappo knows what it's like to live with a disability. For the past nine years she's been working as an advocate for Aboriginal people with disabilities, first through her involvement with the National Aboriginal Clearinghouse on Disabilities, then as a member of the board of directors of the Saskatchewan First Nations Network on Disabilities.
