"Is it only eight?" said [Jason Jaffray], who added the empty-net insurance with 9.9 seconds to play. "I am a stats guy so I watch that. I'd be lying to you if it didn't wear on me a little but it's lot easier when you're winning games and you're in the final.

"It's just good hockey," he said. "I think they're the best team we've played all year. This is the highest level of game we've played, I think, the speed, the size, the physical play, the talent. It's fun to play and I think the fans have enjoyed it. The crowd here is amazing and it's been a good series so far."

NOTES: Vancouver Canucks coach Alain Vigneault was in Winnipeg for Tuesday night's game. The 2005-06 Moose coach said there was a key learning experience in Vancouver this season, when he went from being considered a poor coach to a great one in the space of about six weeks. "I think you learn every year," Vigneault said. "With all the experiences you go through, the good times and the challenging times, I think you learn to spot things quicker. For us this year, all the highs and lows were good. We had a new GM and two new assistant (coaches) and we all came together on the same page. It's going to propel us to what we need to do win the (Stanley) Cup."
