* That [Mark Cohon], backed by the support of stronger governance in CFL bylaws, actually enforces the new salary management system and penalizes teams who cheat. Even more importantly, that he doesn't knuckle under from that position when pressured by private owners.

* That the courageous fight former Alouette Tony Proudfoot will undoubtedly wage against his recently diagnosed Lou Gehrig's disease will help bring more awareness to advocacy projects. Proudfoot, an analyst on Alouette radio broadcasts, is one of the league's good guys and a class act.

* And, finally, that this year's Grey Cup in Toronto -- with only 5,000 or so tickets remaining -- continue to rekindle interest in the game in the country's biggest market.
