The year 2007 will go down in the history books as the busiest 365 days ever for live musical entertainment in Winnipeg, with artists playing everywhere from people's living rooms to the MTS Centre, which continues to draw some of music's biggest names.
Draconian security measures aside, this show, featuring two of rap's biggest icons, was a hard-hitting one-two punch of hip-hop at its finest, with Snoop's laid-back style acting as the counter-balance to the rapid-fire rhymes coming out of Ice Cube's mouth, which included snippets of Straight Outta Compton and Gangsta Gangsta from his days in N.W.A. Ozzy Osbourne was the headliner, but when all was said and done, the Ozzman's too-short show with too much filler couldn't match the Halloween party thrown by the former White Zombie frontman/director. His industrial-edged metal and production -- horror-themed animation and ghoulish videos on seven screens, two scantily clad go-go dancers, pyro and a drummer on a monster-faced riser -- upstaged the headliner.Get This Show On the Road
