A truck driver from Austria whose careless driving killed his German co-worker will be allowed to remain in Canada and fulfil his dream thanks in part to the mercy of the victim's widow. Despite the lack of an explanation, Nenning, 41, took responsibility and pleaded guilty to careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act, an offence that carries a maximum penalty of a $5,000 fine and/or a one-year driving suspension.
