Manito Ahbee, which takes its name from a sacred aboriginal site in the Whiteshell, is a source of pride and "positive synergy" for the aboriginal community, says executive producer Errol Ranville.
"There's always so much negative press for our community," Ranville, Juno Award nominee and lead singer of the C-Weed Band, said following yesterday's news conference to announced the expansion."Winnipeg has the highest aboriginal population per capita in Canada, and there's no signature aboriginal festival.
