Taft did not have the chance to share his ideas with Premier Gary Doer. Taft said Doer's office had "politely" declined a meeting, though a spokesman for the premier said staff in the department of Science, Technology, Energy and Mines had agreed to continue discussions with Taft in coming weeks.
