QUEBEC
On November 5, 2008, Premier Jean Charest met with Lieutenant-Governor Pierre Duchesne to ask him to dissolve the current legislature. The 38th Legislature had begun on April 5, 2007. At its dissolution, on November 5, 2008, the Assembly was composed as follows: Quebec Liberal Party, 48 Members, Action democratique du Quebec, 39 Members; Parti Quebecois, 36 Members; 2 vacant seats.
