"Walking out to the pad will be much like walking into an Olympic stadium," declared [Steve MacLean], who was on the Canadian National Gymnastics Team in the 1970s.

"I invite you all to watch what we do over the next week, it will be exciting," he said. "With a team like this, I promise you, we'll bring home a gold medal."

MacLean, whose first space flight was aboard Columbia in 1992, is more than prepared to assume the "minimized" risk of falling foam.
