"It's really unfortunate," she said Wednesday from her Calgary home. "I would be so disappointed if that club closed. The members there, I really commend them. They've gone out of their way to make sure that I know it's in danger and (ask if) there is anything I'd be interested in doing."

Moskven said registration numbers aren't going down at the other two clubs or around the province the way they have been at the Winnipeg club, which is more than 90 years old. Moskven said with the Olympics coming up next February, the decline could be reversed. She's also suggested that the club move its indoor ice practices from the [Cindy Klassen] Recreation Complex -- which includes the [SUSAN AUCH] Oval -- closer to the club's traditional core of members in Transcona, East Kildonan, North Kildonan or other eastern parts of the city.
