"I think this has been one of the best festivals we've really had," said Kathi Neal, vice president of Gimli's Icelandic Festival, Islendingadagurinn. "The weather has really co-operated."

"We've served over 250 Icelandic sampler plates, well over 300 cans of Viking beer, and I don't even know how many Venertartas (traditional Icelandic cakes)," she said. "People come from all over the world and they want a taste of Iceland."

"We've had great crowds, great weather. Everything is just going according to plan," said Mennonite Heritage Village executive director Bob Strong. "We couldn't ask for better conditions, and the crowds have been lively."
