* For the eighth year in a row, Jim Gauthier Chevrolet Oldsmobile has made available to the Christmas Cheer Board two new vans with a special design for picking up supplies and donations for food and gifts. In the evenings, for the 14 days leading up to Christmas, Gauthier staff team up to deliver hampers to needy families around the city. "We deliver seven hampers per van per evening," says Kelly Irving, the dealership's vice-president. The dealership raised additional funds at its staff Christmas lunch.
* Among Winnipeg Chrysler dealers, Waverley Chrysler raised about $1,500 at the staff Christmas party through a silent auction and raffles to buy toys to give to the Christmas Cheer Board. Eastern Chrysler Dodge Jeep worked its Christmas giving through the Salvation Army -- for whom it also sponsored two vehicles -- as well as Winnipeg Harvest and the Christmas Cheer Board. Winnipeg Dodge Chrysler Jeep provided a hamper for a family of 10 through the cheer board and sponsored a Christmas tree at the Grace Hospital.* The Dilawri Group of Companies -- Crown Acura, Destination Mazda, Sunshine Toyota, Crown Nissan and Winnipeg Honda -- donated unwrapped toys to the Children's Hospital for the hospital's annual Christmas party on Dec. 8. Also, Winnipeg Honda donated $25 from the sale of all new cars sold between Nov. 5 and 10 to the Winnipeg Military Family Resource Centre. Frontier Toyota's management and staff raised money for the Siloam Mission while sister company Frontier Subaru collected toys for the Salvation Army.See the full content of this document
