B.C. Men, Ontario Women Tough to Beat

Summary


Both gold medals in men's competition at Maple Grove Rugby Park went to the B.C. representatives, while all three Ontario women's teams captured the top prize in their age groups.

In the under-17 women's gold medal game, Ontario hammered Alberta 22-5, thanks in part to the contribution of former-Winnipegger Caley Laxer, who scored a try for Ontario.

On the men's side, B.C. exacted some revenge on Ontario. The under-18 team shellacked their eastern rivals 65-5 to claim the gold, while Manitoba finished 1-6 in the division with a 15-12 loss to New Brunswick.
