Members of the police organized crime unit arrested [Billy Bowden] in January 2007, just moments after he left a Corydon Avenue restaurant. His good friend, former Winnipeg police officer Ken Houston, was with him at the time.
Police also found a small quantity of ecstasy, but drug charges were dropped Wednesday. Defence lawyer Sheldon Pinx said there were possible breaches of Bowden's Charter rights that necessitated the plea deal.Bowden also made headlines in March 2005 when he was shot in the leg by a gang associate in the Dirty Laundry bar at 720 Corydon Ave. The shooter was also shot and wounded by someone returning fire, but no one was ever charged.See the full content of this document
