"That's where the Guess Who is from," he says. "They had a song called Runnin' Back to Saskatoon."

"I gotta tell ya, I could probably write a book on rock'n'roll history," he says. "That's what I studied growing up and I'm obsessed with it. I was one of those kids who read every liner note."

The filmmakers: Mark and [Michael Polish] are identical twins whose pervious credits include the surreal indie films Twin Falls Idaho and Northfork. Their films are characterized by dreamlike imagery. But The Astronaut Farmer is distinguished by the fact that it's about [Charles Farmer]'s dream of space flight. "It's an external dream, which everyone can jump on board, compared to an internal dream in Northfork," says Mark Polish. "That one's a little more abstract than this."
