Audi, the inventor of Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI), hopes to blaze a fresh trail in the field of diesel engine manufacturing with the unveiling of a new two-liter TDI unit under the hood of the Audi A3 TDI clubsport quattro. The concept engine will be seen for the first time at the 27th annual Lake Wörther Tour, being held at the end of May in the Austrian province of Carinthia. This potent new engine is reported to deliver 224 hp and a staggering 331.90 lb-ft of torque, boasts speeds of 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 6.6 seconds and attains a top speed of 240 km/h (149.13 mph).
